between the pop-up ads, the junk email, phone solicitors and street bums begging for my change I think more of my day is spent warding off unwanted financial advances than worthwhile activites. Our time and energy is really not our own anymore, it belongs to others who violate and ask for more of our time and energy. Why can't we be a simple society based on simple ideals, but with all the benefits and common conveniences of modern society? Is that really all that impossible? I suppose you could say it is an idealized almost utopian view. I think its practical.
